Goodbye, Sandals Emerald Bay, and hello, Beaches Exuma!
Soon enough, a new Beaches Resort will join Beaches Negril, Beaches Ocho Rios, and Beaches Turks and Caicos. We still don’t know much about it, as details are pretty scarce, but one thing is certain: in late 2025, Beaches Exuma will open its doors to families worldwide, allowing them to enjoy a new waterpark, Sesame Street characters, a golf course, and a whole lot of new surprises at the fourth-ever Beaches Resort.

Even though Beaches is keeping quiet about what we can expect at Beaches Exuma, here are a few things we already know - and also what we expect to see there.

Beaches Exuma Location
Beaches Exuma is located in the Great Exuma, Bahamas. Exuma lies southeast of Nassau and is well-known worldwide for the swimming pigs that you might spot once in a while on Instagram.
A flight from Miami to Great Exuma takes only about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Beaches Exuma is close to the airport!
Phew, thank God! Beaches Exuma is located just 15 minutes away from Exuma International Airport (GGT). This is great news for those that want to officially start their vacation as soon as possible. Beaches also offer complimentary transport from the airport to the resort.
The Beach at Beaches Exuma
Beaches Exuma will continue the tradition of giving you access to one of the best beaches in the Bahamas. The beach here is about 1 mile long, with long stretches of white sand and very clear water. There are hammocks and umbrellas scattered around, and guests have never complained about finding a place to sit down and relax. This area was called Emerald Bay, and most of the name comes from the water’s condition.
The only downside of that beach is that it's often very windy, so expect to see a lot of red flag days - these are days when you can't use water toys or go very far into the water.
New Rooms at Beaches Exuma
We know by now that both Sandals and Beaches typically offer three different room types: Luxury, Concierge, and Butler Suites. This should continue at Beaches Exuma, and we expect to see new rooms introduced when Beaches Exuma opens in 2025.
So, what can we expect there? I hope to see new rooms with swim-up pools and a few suites featuring infinity pools. Recently launched Sandals Resorts have been offering suites with infinity pools on the balcony, and they've received positive feedback from guests.
I also wonder if Beaches Exuma will offer new perks for guests staying in the top-tier suites. In recent Sandals Resorts, we've seen private boat transfers from the airport straight to the resorts, and some rooms even come with access to Mini-Coopers, allowing guests to explore the island at their leisure. It would be great to see some of these perks at Beaches Exuma as well.
New Restaurants at Beaches Exuma

There were 13 complimentary bars and restaurants at Sandals Emerald Bay, and the same number of dining options are expected at Beaches Exuma. I do hope we see some of the restaurants introduced at Sandals 2.0, such as Gatsu Gatsu for Japanese food lovers, Zuka for Latin cuisine, and a new rendition of Butch’s Island Chop House.
Golf at Beaches Exuma

The 18-hole golf course at Beaches Exuma was projected by Greg Norman, and was one of the top highlights at Sandals Emerald Bay. The golf course is about 1.1 miles away from the resort, with complimentary transportation provided.
What else?
Expect to see brand-new features introduced to Beaches Exuma that simply didn’t exist at the adults-only Sandals Emerald Bay. This means we’re probably going to see a Pirates Island Waterpark, a splash zone, and Sesame Street characters walking around.
Beaches Exuma will also welcome guests of all ages, instead of sticking to the adults-only culture of Sandals Resorts.
