Planning a Trip to Sandals Saint Vincent Resort

Can you smell that?

That, my friends, is the scent of something brand new. More specifically, it’s the scent of a beach resort that opened just a while ago, in March 2024. That’s right - Sandals Saint Vincent is the latest addition to the roster of adults-only resorts and the first of its kind located on the beautiful island of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. If you’re looking for something brand new, with fantastic new rooms and a few features exclusive to this resort, then you’ve come to the right place.

Sandals Saint Vincent is a stunning property, nestled between mountains and evoking the feeling of being in a distant fairytale. Remember those movies like Lord of the Rings where characters run up and down hills with breathtaking scenery in the background? It’s something like that, but with the added bonus of warm weather all year long. This is definitely one of the most beautiful Sandals resorts, featuring brand-new beachfront villas that offer the sand practically right outside your door. Talk about romantic!

Keep in mind that you can always contact us if you have any questions about Sandals Saint Vincent. Want to know more about the restaurants, activities, rooms, or anything else about one of the newest Sandals resorts out there? Just click the Request a Quote button and let’s talk. Reaching out is completely free, and you never pay extra when you book with a travel advisor like us.

So, what’s new at Sandals Saint Vincent? Sandals has taken some time to introduce brand-new rooms and amenities for guests. They now offer beachfront villas - luxurious accommodations just a few feet from the sand, allowing you to take a swim in under ten seconds. The rooms have also been upgraded, with some featuring a fitness center right inside the living room ! I’m not entirely sure what 'fitness center' entails, but it seems to include bikes and weights so you can stay in shape right after waking up. Speaking of bikes, this resort is also the first to provide bikes throughout the property for guests, so you can easily hop on one to get from place to place.

Even the butler suite has received a unique and original upgrade. If you’re staying in a butler suite, you now have the option to arrive at the resort by boat! Instead of arriving by car, you’ll board a catamaran and arrive at Sandals in style, where your butler will greet you on the main deck.

So, what else is worth mentioning? The staff is incredibly friendly and receives high praise from almost everyone on Reddit and specialized forums. This property also features several dogs wandering around and resting in the shade, and they’re very friendly, so there’s no need to worry about them. Additionally, there are 11 restaurants on the property, all complimentary for guests, including the famous The Jerk Shack and new additions like an Italian buffet called Sora and a local cuisine restaurant named Buccan.

The beach is average to good. It’s not very big, but the fact that it’s located in a cove gives it a private feel for resort guests. The sand is also very white, but there’s an interesting reason for that: Saint Vincent is a volcanic island, so the sand is naturally black! Sandals imported white sand and spread it on the beach to make it look better. The white sand contrasts beautifully with the water, which is like something out of a movie: crystal clear, calm, and absolutely gorgeous.

There are some drawbacks as well. The main one, interestingly enough, is that getting to Saint Vincent can be pretty hard. Flights are limited and tend to be very expensive, especially if you don’t book months in advance. The road from the airport to the resort is also full of twists and turns, which is certainly bad news for those prone to motion sickness.

This is also a new resort that is likely to improve over time. Some construction is ongoing, as not all buildings are completely finished yet. Despite these issues, the resort has been receiving high praise from guests, with some already calling it their favorite Sandals ever.

The Good Stuff

Brand New: Ahhh, I do love new things. The rooms are so clean! The restaurants are so fresh! Even the air smells nice. Good news: Sandals Saint Vincent is barely six months old, having opened on March 27, 2024. When things are new, they’re often better and work smoothly. This means the chance of encountering issues in your room is significantly reduced, there will always be fresh paint on every building, and the property will be updated with the latest technology.

It’s beautiful: Seriously, this place looks amazing. This resort might be the only Sandals property situated in a valley between three mountains. Everywhere you look, you’re surrounded by lush green vegetation and stunning hills on all sides. The property itself is also very beautiful, and the new, more luxurious Butler Elite Suites add to its appeal. If you’re looking for a stunning and romantic resort, you can’t go wrong with Sandals Saint Vincent.

Friendly Staff: The staff at Sandals Saint Vincent is already highly regarded as some of the friendliest among all Sandals properties. This includes waiters, housekeepers, butlers, gardeners, and essentially everyone on the team. There may be a reason for this high praise: Sandals hires locals to work at their properties, and they did the same at Saint Vincent, providing them with at least a year of training. Staff members are still considered brand new, and there is a good chance that they want to show what they are capable of. Or, perhaps, that’s just the spirit of Saint Vincent.

The Butler Elite Suites: There are new butler suite rooms at Sandals Saint Vincent, including the Beachfront Butler Villa Suites, which offer an exclusive view of the beach and its pristine white sand, and also come with a private pool. There’s also a unique perk for booking a Butler Suite that you might not know about: instead of arriving by private car, you can board a boat and reach the island in style! This is a fantastic option for those who may feel motion sickness in a car and provides a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a fresh perspective of the mountains and the beautiful surroundings.

All inclusive: As is the case with Sandals and Beaches Resorts, Sandals Saint Vincent is also all-inclusive. This means that almost every activity is free for you to enjoy, and every restaurant at your disposal is also free. Even tips are included in your package (although you can tip your butler if you are staying in a Butler Elite Suite). Want to save money? You can't go wrong with Sandals.

The Bad Stuff

Getting there: This issue actually consists of two parts. First, getting to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines can be more challenging than usual. Flights are limited and tend to be quite expensive depending on the time of year. I recommend checking flight options before booking the resort to find the best time to visit. The second issue arises once you’re in Saint Vincent and traveling to the resort. The drive takes approximately 40 minutes to an hour, winding through the mountains with many twists and turns. If you’re prone to motion sickness, it’s a good idea to take some medication before boarding the bus. However, this problem can be mitigated if you book a Butler Suite and opt to arrive by boat.

How to get to Sandals Saint Vincent?

Flying to Sandals Saint Vincent

You will be flying into Argyle International Airport (SVD). The flight takes about 4 hours from Miami. It’s important to check flight availability online and book in advance.

Upon arrival at the airport, head to the Sandals desk, where a staff member will assist with your luggage for the trip to the resort. If you’re staying in a Butler Elite Suite, you have the option to board a boat to the resort. Otherwise, you can take a complimentary bus. The bus ride takes between 40 minutes to an hour and travels along a winding road. If you’re prone to motion sickness, be sure to take medication before boarding.

Transportation Options to Sandals Saint Vincent

As mentioned, there are two options for transportation: you can take a complimentary bus if you’re staying in a Luxury Room or a Club Level Room, or a boat if you’re staying in a Butler Elite Suite. The bus drivers are from a third-party service, and it’s okay to tip them if you wish.

Where is Sandals Saint Vincent?

Sandals Saint Vincent is located in Buccament Bay, Buccament, St. Vincent & the Grenadines. The island of Saint Vincent & the Grenadines is situated north of Trinidad and Tobago, northeast of Venezuela, and southeast of the Dominican Republic and Cuba. Saint Vincent is also just 100 miles west of Barbados, where Sandals also has an amazing resort.

Staying at Sandals Saint Vincent

Sandals Resorts©

Sandals Saint Vincent has some of the best rooms across all Sandals properties. We are not saying this only because Saint Vincent launched in 2024, but there are a lot of cool new room options here as well. They have everything from overwater Villas to Beachfront Butler Villas, and some rooms even come with a small fitness center inside.

Sandals Saint Vincent offers three types of rooms: Sandals Luxury Rooms, Club Level Rooms, and Butler Elite Suites. There are only two categories of Sandals Luxury Rooms, five different Club Level categories, and eight different Butler Elite Suites.

Luxury Rooms are the budget option, while Club Sandals Rooms offer a more upscale experience with additional perks such as private check-in, access to a private lounge, and a more fully stocked mini-bar. The Butler Elite Suites provide a private butler who can make reservations, deliver meals to your room, and assist with various needs during your stay. Guests in Butler Elite Suites also have the option to arrive on the island by boat.

Let’s look at some prices. The costs below are based on a one-week trip for two adults.

  • October 2024: Sandals Luxury Room starting at $7,300; Butler Elite Suite starting at $11,900.
  • March 2025: Sandals Luxury Room starting at $8,200; Butler Elite Suite starting at $12,700.
  • July 2025: Sandals Luxury Room starting at $7,600; Butler Elite Suite starting at $12,300.

Activities at Sandals Saint Vincent

Sandals Saint Vincent Resort overview (1).webp
Sandals Resorts©

Truth be told, there aren’t any activities exclusive to Sandals Saint Vincent. However, there are a few special features that set this place apart. One of them is the abundance of bikes scattered around the property, which guests can use for free to get around. You may also occasionally spot dogs on the property, though no one knows exactly who they belong to. Perhaps they’re the guardians of this sacred ground, and their presence brings good luck? Either way, they’re all good doggos, mostly lounging in the shade and relaxing. They’re also very friendly and cute.

Sandals Saint Vincent also has awesome pools, even though the beach is just average. There are four freshwater pools, which rank among the most beautiful across all Sandals resorts. The main pool is nearly 300 feet long, offering plenty of space and rarely feeling crowded. Depending on your Butler Elite Suite level, you may also have access to a private pool.

In addition, you can expect to find snorkeling, a local spa, numerous water activities, a fitness center, and all the typical amenities Sandals is known for. Here’s a list of what you can enjoy at Sandals Saint Vincent for the absolutely amazing price of… free!

  • 4 Pools
  • 24-hour Fitness Center
  • Red Lane Spa
  • Kayaks
  • Wakeboarding
  • Snorkeling
  • Paddle Boarding
  • Glass Bottom Boats
  • Land Sports (Beach Volleyball, Table Tennis, Pool…)

Sandals Saint Vincent Weather Guide

Sandals Saint Vincent Resort beach.webp
Sandals Resorts©

Saint Vincent & the Grenadines is located in the Caribbean, which means the island enjoys nearly perfect weather year-round. The lowest average temperature occurs in January and February at 80.6°F, while the highest is between May and July at 86°F. As you can see, there’s minimal difference between what many consider winter and summer.

July through October have the highest chance of rain, while February through April are the driest months. This also means that October tends to offer the most affordable rates, whereas January through March is high season, when room prices are at their peak.

Since this is an island in the Caribbean, hurricanes are possible. For example, Hurricane Beryl impacted Saint Vincent and the Grenadines this past July. Although the resort sustained very minimal damage, excursions were canceled for an entire month. Hurricanes typically pass near the island about five times a year but rarely make landfall.

Best Times to visit Sandals Saint Vincent

Much like the Sandals resorts in Jamaica, February, March, and April are excellent months for a spring break vacation. These months offer the best combination of weather and availability, with very low chances of rain. However, they are also among the most expensive. May and June are also great options, as they fall within the shoulder season, offering lower rates and fewer crowds.

December is also a good time to visit Saint Vincent. The weather is excellent, but it's wise to plan your vacation for the beginning of the month, as prices tend to rise significantly closer to Christmas and New Year.

I’d generally advise against traveling in July and August, as these months experience more rainfall and higher humidity. A great alternative is October. Prices are more affordable, the resort is less crowded, and you can enjoy a more relaxed experience at your own pace. Do keep in mind, however, that July-September are prone to hurricanes, even if they rarely make landfall.

So, if you ask me, "Hey, friend, what’s the best time to visit Saint Vincent?" My answer might surprise you. I’d tell you to first check flight prices first. As mentioned before, flights to Saint Vincent aren’t very common and can be quite expensive depending on the time of year. If you find affordable rates for travel between December and June, then I’d say any month during that period is a good one. December through April is high season, while May and June are shoulder season, and both are perfect for a great vacation. Just make sure to check flight prices first.

Packing list for Sandals Saint Vincent

Sandals Resorts©

Packing for a beach resort isn’t as straightforward as it might seem. While you’ll need several swimsuits, don’t forget to pack at least a few nice outfits for romantic evenings, formal events, or special dinners with the love of your life.

Also, bring essentials like sunscreen and bug repellent from home, as these items are usually much more expensive on-site. It’s always wise to come prepared and bring all the essentials with you instead of waiting to buy them at the resort. Your wallet will thank you later.

We will separate this list into essentials to bring on your beach resort trip and a few nice-to-haves.

Essentials

At least 3-4 swimsuits: Since you're going to a beach resort, swimsuits are essential. Think of it like going to Alaska without a warm coat. For a week-long trip, bring at least three swimsuits so you can change styles daily and have an extra in case one gets lost. They also will not dry hung up overnight, so make sure to bring more than two.

3-4 swim cover-ups: For the ladies, swim cover-ups are incredibly useful at a beach resort. They are great for transitioning from the beach to a nearby restaurant and provide warmth against the chilly wind after a swim.

Rash guard: It protects from the sun. It doesn’t let you burn. You do the simple math and quickly realize it’s a very good item to bring to a beach vacation.

Shorts & t-shirts/skirts & casual dresses: Especially for the guys, shorts and t-shirts are essential. You'll wear them frequently, even pairing khaki shorts with a cozy shirt for dinner. This combo ensures comfort and relaxation during your beach stay.

Flip flops/comfortable sandals: Since you'll be walking a lot on sand and exploring the beach, sandals or flip flops are a must. Let your feet breathe and enjoy the feel of the beautiful, warm sands.

Nice outfits: Bring at least two to three elegant outfits, such as trousers paired with a dress shirt and dress shoes, or an elegant dress. This will also give you a great reason to dress up and enjoy the night parties.

Sun hat: you know those big hats that almost make you look like a Samurai? Yeah, you are probably going to need one of those in a beach resort. They look stylish and they really protect from the sun. Remember, at a beach resort, the sun will be like a new member of your party for the duration of your vacation.

Beach bag: remember to pack a beach bag to take to the… uh… beach. They’re simple, lightweight and perfect for you to throw it on the sand without feeling bad for it. Put all you need inside and you are good to go.

Sunglasses: they protect your eyes from the sun. You only have two eyes, and you should love them, so keep them safe since you will be under the sun for a long time.

Sunscreen: Don't forget to pack your sunscreen! Bring your favorite one, and consider bringing more than one since you'll be using it a lot. While sunscreen is available on-site, it's much more expensive than what you're used to.

Lip balm: sunscreen and lip balm are a perfect pair. Unfortunately you can’t slather sunscreen on your mouth (or maybe you can, I don't know) so it’s a good idea to pack a Lip balm to protect against cracked lips. They’re not expensive, they are very small and won’t occupy a lot of space, so let’s put them into the essential list.

After-sun lotion: Since you'll be spending days under the sun, it's important to take care of your skin. These lotions are perfect for moisturizing your skin after sun exposure and soothing any redness or inflammation.

Some cash: there is a very good chance you won’t ever need cash during your vacation, but it’s always good to bring something in case you need to tip an additional service like a spa treatment, your butler or your bus driver. Cash is also used for transportation outside the beach resort. Better to be safe than sorry!

Nice-to-haves

Bug Spray: this can be a lifesaver against those pesky mosquitoes, though in some beach resorts, it may feel like insects don't exist. Mosquitoes can be particularly bothersome during rainy seasons when humidity rises. It's usually a good idea to bring one along if you have space in your luggage.

Laundry detergent: if you plan on doing laundry during your vacation, you should bring your own detergent. Don’t pack a lot, tough. While some of the most expensive rooms may have washing machines, many do not, and using them often incurs additional charges. For shorter vacations, I’d recommend packing more shirts and skipping laundry, but the choice is yours.

Water shoes: If you plan to walk near the water, especially around rocks and corals, water shoes are essential. They protect your feet and provide added stability while exploring.

Waterproof portable speaker: Planning to enjoy Taylor Swift by the beach? Portable speakers can add to the fun. Just remember to keep the volume at a considerate level, as not everyone may share your love for “Shake it Off” at full blast.

Portable charger: we just know that some of us will spend 25h a day on our cellphones, taking pictures for Instagram in front of the most beautiful vistas in the world. It might be a good idea to pack a portable charger if you plan on using your cellphone a lot while you are out at the beach or just exploring.

Should I go to Sandals Saint Vincent?

You should already have an idea if this beach resort is for you. You will have a great time in Sandals Saint Vincent if:

  • You want a beautiful place surrounded by mountains
  • You want to explore a very unique travel destination
  • You care more about awesome swimming pools than a nice beach
  • You don’t care too much about unique activities
  • Oh yeah, also if you love doggos

One of the most important things to know is that Sandals is geared towards adults and couples. This is an adults-only resort, so children are not allowed.
