Welcome to our guide, where we take a closer look at what Azamara has to offer. This time, we’re focusing on the staterooms and dining options available onboard.
Azamara is a smaller, boutique cruise line known for its elegant ships and destination-rich itineraries. Their stateroom categories are fairly standard across the fleet, though you’ll find a nice variety when it comes to suites.
Dining is easy to navigate. Each ship includes a complimentary Main Dining Room, a buffet, two casual snack spots, and two specialty restaurants that come with an additional charge. This setup is consistent across all ships in the fleet. When it comes to bars, each ship has around four, with Azamara Onward offering one more for a total of five.
We’re always here to help you choose the perfect stateroom for you and your family, and assist with planning your entire trip. At Famvia, our goal is to make your journey with Azamara smooth and unforgettable, from selecting the ideal itinerary and dates to finding the best accommodations onboard. Azamara Cruises Room Options

There are four different cabin types at Azamara:
- Interior
- Oceanview
- Veranda
- Suite
Every room includes:
- At least one queen bed
- Luxurious cotton bed linens with duvet
- Terry bathrobes
- French bath products
- 24-hour room service
- TV
- Tote bag
- Minibar
Not too shabby, right? Having 24-hour room service is a big plus, and you’ll also get at least one queen-size bed that can be split into two twins if needed.
All staterooms include thoughtful amenities like USB ports, fresh flowers, and even a basket of fresh fruit. Suites come with an extra touch of luxury: personal butler service. That said, the rooms aren’t particularly large by modern standards. This might be due to the ships being around twenty years old, and while they’ve been recently refurbished, there’s only so much that can be done with the available space. Interior rooms measure about 158 square feet, while Veranda staterooms offer 175 square feet of indoor space plus a 40-square-foot private balcony.
Now, let’s take a closer look at each stateroom category.
Interior Stateroom

- Good for: those that want to save money, if you are travelling solo, if you won’t be staying inside your room for too long and prefer to explore the ship.
- Size: 158 sq. ft. (14.7 sq. m.).
The Interior Stateroom is the most affordable accommodation option on Azamara’s ships. These rooms don’t offer any natural light, but they’re small, cozy, and ideal for guests who plan to spend most of their time out and about, whether that’s at the bar, by the pool, or exploring ports of call.
Interior staterooms on Azamara are slightly smaller than what you might find on other cruise lines, but they still come with some nice perks. You’ll enjoy 24-hour room service, a flat-screen TV (at least 40 inches), and a comfortable bathrobe waiting for you after a long day of adventure.
Oceanview Staterooms

- Good for: those that want natural light, if you are travelling solo.
- Size: 143 sq. ft. (13.3 sq m).
Oceanview Staterooms are quite similar to Interior Staterooms, with one key upgrade: a window that offers views of the outside and brings in natural light (though it doesn’t open). These rooms strike a nice balance between an Interior stateroom and a Veranda.
It’s worth noting that Oceanview rooms are actually a bit smaller than Interior Staterooms, which makes them a great choice for solo travelers. For couples, however, space might feel a little tight, especially if you like to spread out during your cruise.
Veranda & Veranda Plus Staterooms

- Good for: those that want a private balcony, guests that need a bit more space.
- Size: 175 sq. ft. (16.3 sq. m.); Veranda: 40 sq. ft. (3.7 sq. m.), 46–64 sq. ft. (4.3-6 sq. m.) for Veranda Plus.
Veranda Staterooms are a classic favorite in the cruise world, and for good reason. These cabins offer all the same perks and amenities found in Interior and Oceanview staterooms, with one major upgrade: a private balcony where you can enjoy fresh air, natural light, and ocean views whenever you like. Each veranda features two chairs and a small table, perfect for sipping a drink, reading a book, or simply relaxing as the world floats by.
Veranda Plus Staterooms are a premium version of the standard Veranda. These rooms include everything you get in a regular Veranda stateroom, but with a larger balcony for even more outdoor space. In addition, Veranda Plus guests enjoy a few exclusive perks, such as:
- Complimentary Internet (120 minutes or 25% off the unlimited internet package) per guest
- One free bag of laundry service per stateroom, every seven days
- One night of complimentary specialty dining for two, every seven days
- Priority embarkation and debarkation
- Complimentary in-room spirits
Suites

- Good for: if you want top tier luxury, if you want a private butler.
- Size: from 266 sq. ft. (24.7 sq. m.) to 560 sq. ft. (52 sq. m.); Veranda: from 60 sq. ft. (5.6 sq. m.) to 233 sq. ft. (21.7 sq. m.).
Azamara does suites well, offering four distinct categories: the Continent Suite, Spa Suite, Ocean Suite, and the World Owner’s Suite. All of these options are noticeably larger than standard staterooms and feature spacious, thoughtfully designed bathrooms.
Each suite category builds on the one before it in terms of space and amenities. Spa Suites are larger than Continent Suites, while Ocean Suites offer even more room, along with a separate living area. At the top of the line, the World Owner’s Suite provides the most generous layout, complete with a full living room and expansive space to truly stretch out and relax.
Guests in suites enjoy a variety of premium perks, including complimentary Wi-Fi (with some categories offering unlimited access), access to a private area of the spa, In-Suite Afternoon Tea, complimentary in-room spirits, and the attentive service of a private butler.
Now, let’s take a closer look at what each suite category has to offer.
Continent Suite
- Complimentary 240 minutes of Basic Wi-Fi or 50% off the Unlimited Basic Wi-Fi package, per person.
- One free bag of laundry service per suite, each seven days*
- Complimentary specialty dining
- Complimentary access to the Thalassotherapy pool and spa deck
Spa Suite
- Priority embarkation and debarkation
- Complimentary Unlimited Basic Wi-Fi (1 package per person)

Azamara Cruises Dining Options

Azamara offers a variety of dining options onboard, including a Main Dining Room, a buffet, a few casual snack spots, and two specialty restaurants available at an additional cost.
The overall food quality is considered quite good, and definitely a step above what you’ll find on most mainstream cruise lines. However, it doesn’t quite reach the culinary heights of ultra-luxury lines like Explora Journeys. That said, it’s a fair trade-off, considering that Azamara cruises are more affordable than those top-tier luxury experiences.
There’s no formal dress code onboard, and you’re free to dress comfortably at all dining venues. That said, Azamara does have a few guidelines in place to maintain a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. As they put it: “Bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps, bathing suits, shorts, and torn/distressed jeans are not allowed in the main dining room or the two specialty restaurants.”
Dietary Needs
With advance notice, Azamara is happy to accommodate most special dietary needs. You can update your preferences through the “Manage My Reservation” tool, or submit your request in writing, no later than 40 days before U.S. sailings and 80 days before all other sailings.
You can also email the team directly at [email protected]. Of course, if you’re booking with us here at Famvia, we’ll be more than happy to take care of that for you.
Main Dining Room
Every Azamara ship features a main dining room known as the Discoveries Restaurant. There’s no assigned seating or fixed dining time, giving you the flexibility to dine whenever it suits you within the dinner window. You can choose a table for two for a more intimate experience or join a larger table if you’re traveling with a group, or feel like meeting new people.
Dinner is typically served from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM, and you’ll want to set aside around 90 minutes to fully enjoy the experience.
Buffet
Every Azamara cruise ship features a complimentary buffet known as the Windows Café. It’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offering a relaxed, casual dining experience with plenty of variety.
In the evening, Windows Café transforms into a table-service venue, offering dishes inspired by the destination you visited that day. If you’re looking for a more relaxed or quicker alternative to the 90-minute experience at Discoveries Restaurant, Windows Café can be a great option for dinner.
Breakfast is typically available from 6:30 or 7:00 AM until 10:00 AM, lunch from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM, and dinner from 6:00 PM to 9:30 or 10:00 PM, depending on the ship and itinerary.
Specialty Restaurants Onboard Azamara Cruises

Azamara offers two specialty restaurants onboard that come with an additional charge: Aqualina, which serves upscale Italian cuisine, and Prime C, a classic steakhouse. Each has a base price of $49.95 per guest, though guests staying in a World Owner’s Suite, Ocean Suite, or Continent Suite can enjoy these venues complimentary. Reservations are highly recommended, as these spots are popular and space is limited.
Both restaurants offer excellent service (the kind Azamara is known for) and the food is consistently well-reviewed. Choosing between them really comes down to your mood: craving fresh pasta or seafood? Go with Aqualina. In the mood for a perfectly cooked steak or lamb chop? Prime C is your place.
That said, Aqualina often gets extra praise for its ambiance. The space is brighter and more elegant, with a modern design that many guests find more inviting compared to the darker, club-like setting of Prime C.
One of the best things about Azamara's specialty dining is the Chef’s Table experience. For around $100 per person, guests are treated to an elegant six-course meal thoughtfully paired with premium wines. During the evening, the chef personally introduces each dish, while the ship’s sommeliers guide you through the wine selections. Chef’s Table is typically offered about four times per cruise, with additional dates possible depending on guest interest. The dinner lasts approximately three hours, and for many cruisers, it’s a major highlight of the entire voyage.
Drink & Dining Packages
Azamara offers complimentary drinks throughout your voyage, which include select standard spirits, a variety of international beers, and a rotating selection of two red wines, two white wines, one rosé, and one sparkling wine served by the glass each day.
However, premium cocktails and higher-end beverages are available at an additional cost. There are three different drink packages onboard:
- Premium Package: 31.95USD per person, per day. This package features a selection of well-known spirits, including Absolut, Ketel One, Stolichnaya, Canadian Club, Johnnie Walker Red Label, Captain Morgan, Myers’s Original Dark, Tanqueray, Bombay Sapphire, Disaronno Amaretto, Southern Comfort, and more.
- Ultimate Package: 39.95 per person, per day. Includes everything in the Premium Package, plus additional top-shelf spirits, wine by the glass, and premium non-alcoholic options.
- Wine Package: Prices vary. Designed for wine enthusiasts, this package offers two options, Wine Lovers and Wine Connoisseur. Pricing depends on the number of bottles included and typically ranges between $50 and $100.
There are also Dining Packages available for guests who want to enjoy specialty dining. Purchasing these packages in advance can help you save money, as shown in the table below:
