Oceania Cruises Room & Dining Options

Welcome to our in-depth guide where we’ll explore the staterooms and dining options aboard Oceania Cruises. This guide is likely to put a smile on your face - staterooms on Oceania are impressively spacious and well-appointed, with every room on the newest Allura Class ships featuring a private balcony. Dining is another highlight, with complimentary specialty restaurants and cuisine that’s often praised as some of the finest at sea.

Before we move on, just a quick reminder that you can always click the Request a Quote button to send us any questions about Oceania Cruises. Getting in touch is completely free and, even better, booking through Famvia doesn’t cost you a cent more. The cruise line pays our commission, not you. We can assist with itineraries, pricing and may even have access to exclusive offers that could save you money.

Oceania Cruises Room Options

Stateroom options vary slightly from ship to ship… or more precisely, from one ship class to another. The Allura Class, which includes Oceania Vista and Oceania Allura, features only balcony staterooms. Meanwhile, the Regatta and Oceania Classes offer more traditional options, including oceanview and inside staterooms. That said, staterooms on Oceania Cruises generally fall into four main categories:

  • Inside
  • Oceanview
  • Veranda
  • Suites

Every stateroom, even the most affordable option onboard, includes at a minimum:

  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Sodas and Water replenished daily in your refrigerated mini-bar
  • Luxury bath amenities
  • Free Room service menu 24 hours a day
  • Daily housekeeping service
  • Gourmet turndown chocolates upon request
  • Interactive television system with on-demand movies, weather and more
  • Writing desk
  • Plush cotton towels, robes and slippers
  • Handheld hair dryer
  • Security safe

Let’s take a closer look at each stateroom category.

Inside Staterooms

Oceania Cruises Inside Stateroom.webp

  • Good for: Guests looking to keep costs down or who don’t plan to spend much time in their stateroom.
  • Size: 160 to 174 square feet.

Inside staterooms are a cruise ship classic, though you won’t find them on the Allura Class ships - they’re only available on the Oceania Class and Regatta Class.

That said, the inside staterooms on Oceania Class ships are slightly larger than those on the Regatta Class, which makes sense given that Oceania Class vessels are about a decade newer than their older counterparts. These rooms don’t offer windows or balconies, making them the most budget-friendly option onboard.

Oceanview Staterooms

  • Good for: Guests who want a bit more space than an inside stateroom and prefer to have natural light
  • Size: 143 (solo cabins) to 240 square feet.

Oceanview staterooms come with a small porthole or window, offering lovely views of the ocean and allowing in natural light - though the window can’t be opened.

You won’t find these staterooms on Allura Class ships, but they are available on both the Oceania and Regatta Classes. On a ship like Oceania Regatta, you can even choose between Solo Oceanview, Standard Oceanview, and Deluxe Oceanview cabins. The Deluxe Oceanview offers more space, a larger bathroom, and a touch of added luxury compared to the standard version.

Veranda Staterooms

  • Good for: Guests who want natural light, extra space, and the comfort of a private balcony
  • Size:  216 to 291 square feet.

Veranda staterooms are a staple on cruise ships, and that’s certainly the case with Oceania Cruises. In fact, they serve as the entry-level option on Allura Class ships, which offer both French Veranda Staterooms and traditional Veranda Staterooms.

Some ships also feature Concierge Level Veranda Staterooms, which come with added perks such as:

  • Expanded lunch and dinner room service menu from The Grand Dining Room
  • Free laundry service - up to 3 bags per stateroom
  • Exclusive card-only access to private Concierge Lounge staffed by a dedicated Concierge featuring complimentary sodas, coffees and snacks throughout the day
  • Complimentary welcome bottle of Prosecco
  • Priority online specialty restaurant reservations
  • Unlimited access to the Aquamar Spa Terrace
  • Complimentary Oceania Cruises logo tote bag
  • Cashmere lap blankets
  • Complimentary pressing of garments upon embarkation
  • Complimentary shoeshine service

Suites

  • Good for: Guests seeking extra perks, uncompromising luxury, and a generously sized stateroom
  • Size: 322 to over 2000 square feet.

Suites are the most luxurious accommodations aboard Oceania Cruises and come in several distinct categories. On Allura Class ships, for instance, you’ll find the Penthouse Suite, Oceania Suite, Vista Suite, and Owner’s Suite. Every suite includes 24-hour butler service, and as you move up the suite tier, the perks increase along with the size and opulence of the space.

Even at the entry-level, suites include all Concierge-level benefits, plus some standout perks of their own, such as:

  • Priority luggage delivery
  • Exclusive card-only access to private Executive Lounge staffed by a dedicated Concierge featuring complimentary sodas, coffees and snacks throughout the day
  • 24-hour Butler service
  • Course-by-course in-suite dining (order in from any specialty restaurant)
  • Coordination of shoreside dinner and entertainment reservations
  • Last-minute luggage collection
  • Packing and unpacking upon request
  • Complimentary garment pressing
  • Complimentary shoeshine service
  • Gourmet evening canapés upon request
  • Special services upon request

The Finest Cuisine at Sea. That’s more than just a slogan for Oceania Cruises, it’s a point of pride. The cruise line is renowned for its culinary excellence, even boasting two Master Chefs of France. All restaurants onboard are complimentary, whether you're dining at a French bistro, a classic steakhouse, or a sophisticated pan-Asian venue.

Each dish is crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients that rival those found in Michelin-starred restaurants on land.

Dietary Needs

Have specific dietary needs? Just reach out to Famvia, we’ll take care of it for you. According to Oceania, special arrangements can be made for diabetic, gluten-free, lactose-free, kosher, vegetarian, and vegan meals. Other dietary requests may require prior approval and, in some cases, supporting medical documentation.

Dress Code

There’s no strict dress code onboard and no formal gala nights, either. That said, evenings do call for a more refined look. Think effortless sophistication - polished, upscale, yet still comfortably elegant.

Room Service

Complimentary room service is available 24 hours a day, featuring an extensive in-room dining menu.

Is there a Main Dining Room onboard Oceania Cruises?

Yes, there is, and it’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. No reservations are required, and you’re free to sit wherever you prefer.

In fact, Oceania’s Main Dining Room is one of the most impressive at sea, offering a wide-ranging menu with at least 10 different appetizers, soups, and salads, along with 10 entrée selections each evening. You'll also find wellness-focused options like Aquamar Vitality Cuisine, gourmet vegetarian dishes, and the most extensive plant-based menu at sea.

Do I need to pay for any restaurant onboard Oceania Cruises?

No, you do not need to pay for any of the dining venues onboard. While reservations may be required for specialty restaurants like Toscana and Polo Grill, all dining options are included in your cruise fare.

Is there a buffet onboard Oceania Cruises?

Yes, Oceania Cruises features a buffet-style venue called Terrace Café, open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Are Drinks Included on Oceania Cruises? What about Drink Packages?

Only soft drinks, coffee, tea, juices, and water are included in your cruise fare. Alcoholic beverages are not.

To enjoy those, Oceania Cruises offers two drink packages:

Prestige Select Beverage Package

Enjoy unlimited Champagne, wine by the glass, beer, spirits, and cocktails. This package excludes wine by the bottle, premium spirits, and sake. It’s available at all onboard venues, as well as through room service during bar operating hours. The cost is $59.95 per person, per day when purchased before your cruise, or $69.95 per person, per day when purchased onboard.

House Select Beverage Package

Available on select sailings, this package includes complimentary Champagne, wine, and beer by the glass during lunch and dinner at all onboard restaurants, or through room service during restaurant hours. If offered, you can upgrade to the Prestige Select Beverage Package for an additional $30 per person, per day.

The Best Restaurants Onboard Oceania Cruises

Oceania Cruises Culinary Class.webp

Red Ginger

  • Type: Pan-Asian; reservations required.

The contemporary Asian cuisine here reflects the line's refined global culinary vision. The sushi is surprisingly exceptional for a cruise ship, and the hot dishes blend flavors from across Asia with impressive authenticity - you’ll find spicy roast duck, Malaysian beef, and one of the most delicious seabass offerings at sea. The sake selection is particularly noteworthy (though it comes at an additional cost).

Jacques

  • Type: French cuisine; reservations required.

Considered one of the best French restaurants at sea, this venue is available on Oceania Marina, Riviera, Allura, and will debut on Oceania Vista by the end of 2025. Signature dishes like coq au vin, apple tarte Tatin, and bouillabaisse are true standouts. Its relaxed yet refined atmosphere makes it an ideal choice for both lunch and dinner.

Toscana

  • Type: Italian; reservations required.

Toscana is a standout Italian restaurant aboard most Oceania cruise ships. With so many exceptional Italian options on land, it’s no easy feat to impress, but Toscana succeeds beautifully. Highlights include the rich pesto gnocchi, lobster risotto, and even the bread basket, which is consistently outstanding.
