Regent Seven Seas Ships & Destinations

Regent Seven Seas is one of the few true ultra-luxury cruise lines in the world, competing in a refined niche alongside brands like Explora Journeys and Silversea. The fleet is divided into two classes: the Explorer Class and the Small Cruise Ship Class. As the name suggests, the Small Cruise Ship Class consists of older, more intimate vessels designed for approximately 450 to 700 guests. The newer Explorer Class includes a collection of sister ships built to accommodate around 750 passengers.

What both classes share is a commitment to exceptional service, elegant design, and luxurious amenities. Naturally, the newer Explorer Class ships offer more dining venues, lounges, and onboard facilities, along with a wider range of suite categories.

Speaking of suites, 99% of accommodations across the Regent fleet are balcony suites. In fact, only one ship, the Seven Seas Mariner (launched in 2001), features an oceanview stateroom without a balcony. Every suite onboard Regent ships starts at a generous 300 square feet, which is impressive when compared to entry-level inside cabins on mainstream cruise lines, many of which begin at just 150 square feet.

Here is the current Regent Seven Seas fleet:

  • Seven Seas Prestige (2026)
  • Seven Seas Grandeur (2023)
  • Seven Seas Splendor (2020)
  • Seven Seas Explorer (2016)
  • Seven Seas Voyager (2003)
  • Seven Seas Mariner (2001)
  • Seven Seas Navigator (1991)

What are the main differences between Regent Seven Seas' two classes of ships?

Great question! While all Regent ships offer a luxurious and intimate experience, there are notable differences between the two classes:

  • Size & Capacity: Explorer Class ships are nearly identical in design and accommodate 744 guests each. In contrast, ships in the Small Cruise Ship Class vary more, with Seven Seas Navigator carrying just 496 guests, and the others in the class accommodating around 700.
  • Suite Variety: Explorer Class ships offer a wider range of suite categories, including the iconic Regent Suite - a 4,443-square-foot masterpiece that’s among the most luxurious accommodations at sea. With a nightly rate of around $11,000, it’s more like a private mansion than a cruise suite.
  • Dining & Activities: Explorer Class ships feature more dining venues and onboard experiences. For example, the acclaimed Pacific Rim restaurant, often ranked among the best at sea, is exclusive to the Explorer Class. These ships also host specialty cooking classes and offer expanded enrichment programs.

It might come as a surprise, but Regent Seven Seas actually sails all over the world. While you’ll find them in popular regions like the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, and Northern Europe, they also have a strong presence in Alaska, Asia, and Australia. Plus, they’re well known for their Grand Voyages - extended sailings that cross the Atlantic and beyond.

And let’s be honest, what could be better than exploring the globe aboard an ultra-luxury, all-inclusive cruise?

Here are some of their main destinations:

  • Mediterranean (popular)
  • Northern Europe (popular)
  • Caribbean (popular)
  • World Cruises/Crossings (popular)
  • Asia (popular)
  • Alaska
  • South America
  • Canada & New England
  • Oceania
  • Africa

Let’s take a closer look at some of these destinations and the average starting prices for each.

Mediterranean

  • Starting Price: around $8,000 per guest.
  • Main ports: Athens, Barcelona, Lisbon, Rome, Venice.

The Mediterranean remains Regent's most popular destination, and for good reason. These itineraries feel like floating museums, docking at some of the most culturally rich ports in the world.

What sets Regent's Mediterranean cruises apart is their focus on overnight stays and longer port visits. While other cruise lines might rush you through some cities, Regent gives you the time to truly experience places like Barcelona, Rome, and Monaco.

Their "Immersive Overnight" experiences in cities like Venice and Stockholm let you explore after the crowds are gone, adding a touch of magic to your trip. And remember, this is a cruise line that includes unlimited shore excursions in your fare, making it even easier (and more fun) to discover the beauty of the Mediterranean.

Asia

  • Starting Price: around $10,000 per guest.
  • Main ports: Tokyo, Bali, Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul.

Regent's Asian itineraries are among the most culturally immersive cruises you’ll find anywhere. From Japan's cherry blossom season and the Akihabara district in Tokyo to the spice markets of Indonesia, these voyages offer a level of depth that's hard to match. What’s especially impressive is how Regent balances destinations like Tokyo and Bali with hidden gems that larger ships simply can’t reach.

Many of their Southeast Asian cruises feature overnight stays in dynamic cities like Hong Kong and Singapore, giving you time to dive into the nightlife and culinary scenes. The included shore excursions might take you through local markets alongside a chef or lead you to private temples for cultural performances.

Caribbean

  • Starting Price: around $6,700 per guest.
  • Main ports:  Miami, Bridgetown, Galveston, New York, Tampa Bay.

While many cruise lines treat the Caribbean as a party destination filled with beach stops and private islands, Regent brings a touch of sophisticated elegance to the region. Their itineraries highlight lesser-visited islands and unique cultural experiences, offering a refreshing take on Caribbean cruising. Most of these voyages depart from PortMiami.

Ports of call often include places like Belize, Costa Maya, Cozumel, and St. Lucia. As a bonus, these sailings are among Regent Seven Seas’ most affordable, making them a great choice if you’re looking to experience the cruise line for the first time.

Here are some of the most popular destinations included in Caribbean Itineraries:

  • Southern Caribbean: Barbados, St. Lucia, Grenada, Trinidad & Tobago, Curaçao, Aruba
  • Eastern Caribbean: St. Thomas, St. John, St. Maarten, Antigua, Dominica
  • Western Caribbean: Cozumel, Costa Maya, Belize, Roatán, Grand Cayman
  • Central America: Panama Canal, Cartagena (Colombia), Puerto Limón (Costa Rica)
  • Lesser Antilles: Bequia, Martinique, Guadeloupe, St. Kitts

World Cruises

  • Starting Price: around $7,200 per guest for transoceanic crossings.
  • Main ports: Miami, Barcelona, Rome, Vancouver, Tokyo.

For the ultimate luxury cruise experience, Regent’s World Cruises and transpacific voyages are the pinnacle of cruising. Seriously, it just doesn’t get better than that. These epic journeys can last anywhere from 14 nights to over 180 nights, often beginning in Europe, North America, or Asia. Here are some of the incredible destinations frequently included in these grand World Voyages:

  • South Pacific: Tahiti, Bora Bora, Moorea, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia
  • Indian Ocean: Maldives, Seychelles, Mauritius, Madagascar
  • Middle East: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Jordan (Aqaba for Petra)
  • Africa: South Africa (Cape Town), Morocco (Casablanca), Egypt (Cairo)
  • South America: Argentina, Chile, Brazil (Rio de Janeiro), Uruguay, Peru (Machu Picchu)
