Say hi to one of Celebrity Cruises' main ships and a favorite among passengers worldwide. The Celebrity Apex began sailing recently, in June 2021, and it has showcased a lot of style that remains its trademark to this day. The Apex features an amazing design, plenty of space for passengers to move around, art galleries and the iconic Magic Carpet - a stylish platform built on the side of the ship that serves as an elevator, bar, restaurant, and a relaxing spot to chill.

The Apex is, above all, a truly elegant ship. The main top deck is absolutely stunning, featuring sculptures around the main pool and even a garden where you can take a leisurely stroll, grab a book, and relax in the sun. Yes, there are gardens aboard the ship, in the outdoor areas, allowing you to enjoy the vibrant greenery alongside the endless blue of the ocean.

There’s also the Grand Plaza, a breathtaking three-story venue inspired by the piazzas of Italy. This space serves as the heart of the ship, bringing together a variety of dining venues and entertainment options in one central location. Let’s just say that, if you love elegance and the idea of a luxurious journey across the sea, then this might just be the perfect ship for you.

Eden, a beautiful three-story restaurant and lounge, might be the Apex’s most impressive showcase of elegance. The name is fitting, as stepping inside feels like entering the Garden of Eden. Imagine a space filled with a harmonious blend of wood and lush greenery, all within a cruise ship. It’s a place where you can enjoy a delicious meal or simply relax with a drink before a stage show.

Let’s also not forget that the Magic Carpet is a signature feature of Celebrity Apex. It’s basically a moving platform attached to the side of the ship that transforms into different venues throughout the day. In the morning, it might serve as a bar for breakfast; during the day, it becomes a restaurant; and at night, it transforms into a lounge with live music. Not only is it incredibly stylish, but it also creates additional space, ensuring that the Apex never feels overcrowded, even at full capacity.

The food is also considered good, and most guests give it a 7/10, at least for the complimentary options. Of course that specialty dining increases that score, but you also have to pay extra for it. Some guersts on Reddit have said that Celebrity used to have some of the best food across all cruise lines, but the quality has decreased a tony bit in the last few years. We will let you be the judge of that.

What we don’t like about Celebrity Apex

The staterooms on Celebrity Apex are comfortable and well-designed, but many guests have mixed feelings about the Infinity Verandas. Unlike traditional balcony staterooms on other cruise lines, the Infinity Veranda does not feature an open balcony. Instead, it offers an extended living space with a floor-to-ceiling window that can be opened partially, creating a balcony-like effect. It’s not as good or fun as a traditional veranda and, to get one like that, you need to book another type of veranda stateroom.

Celebrity Apex also isn’t the best choice for families traveling with kids. While children are welcome and can still enjoy their time onboard, the ship isn’t specifically designed with younger guests in mind. For instance, there are no waterparks or waterslides available. Families with children may find cruise lines like Royal Caribbean, Disney Cruise Line, Carnival, or Norwegian Cruise Line better suited to their needs.
