Disney Davy Crockett Ranch is a resort for those who want a little less Disney and a little more nature. That might sound unusual for guests looking for a vacation near Disneyland Paris, but this is probably the least touristy resort around, filled with cozy cottages, trees, playgrounds and even barbecue and picnic areas. In fact, this resort has far more facilities and activities than other hotels near Disneyland Paris. It offers a mini golf course, a tennis court, a playground, an arcade, a swimming pool and even pet-friendly rooms. This is the place for guests who want more freedom, whether it is spending a weekend roasting a T-bone, diving into the pool or practicing their backhand on the tennis court.
The prices here are also pretty good, and you can expect to pay around $250 per night. Do remember that you need a car or an Uber to get around, since the resort is a 15 minute drive from the parks and there are no shuttles.
Our advice is to only stay here if you have a car. If you do not, consider renting one, especially if you are traveling with a larger family of five or six. This is one of the few hotels where entry level rooms fit up to six guests, so you could rent a minivan, load everyone up, enjoy the cozy cottages and drive to the parks each morning. While you do have to drive, parking at Disneyland Paris is free and you still get access to Early Entry, which is a great perk.
The pool here is awesome. In fact, just having a pool is already a big plus, since some Disneyland Paris resorts are more expensive and do not even have one. Not only does Disney Davy Crockett Ranch have a pool, but it is also one of the best in the entire Disneyland Paris area. Seriously, it looks amazing. This heated indoor pool comes with a slide, a wooden bridge, whirlpools and even a children’s splash zone. It is large and filled with themed details like rocks, plants and a watchtower, making it look like it exists inside a forest. That is another big win for guests who want to enjoy their resort, especially for families with children who love swimming.
What we don’t like about Disney Davy Crockett Ranch
That is an easy one, and you probably know by now the biggest issue with this resort, right? Yep, it is the location. This is the only Disneyland Paris resort that is not within walking distance of the theme parks, and it takes a 15 minute drive to reach the gates. If you do not have a car or do not want to drive to Disneyland, then this resort will probably be scratched from your list of favorites.
Another issue? This is one of the few Disneyland Paris resorts, and maybe the only one, that does not have any kind of character meet and greet. Even Santa Fe, often considered the most affordable resort, offers meet and greets with Disney characters like Mickey and Donald. Davy Crockett Ranch has none of that, which makes it feel like the most non Disney resort in the entire area.
