Disney Sequoia Lodge is a great choice at Disneyland Paris if you don’t want to overthink a themed hotel and just prefer something reasonably priced, with solid amenities and a peaceful atmosphere. Sequoia Lodge is Disneyland Paris’s version of Wilderness Lodge, scaled back a little, but still charming. It’s one of the most “nature-inspired” resorts on property, featuring both indoor and outdoor pools, plus a waterslide for kids. Price-wise, it falls into the midrange category for Disneyland Paris hotels, with nightly rates between $300 and $400.
What we like about Disney Sequoia Lodge
The theming is great, as Disney Sequoia Lodge is all about the national parks you can find in the United States and around the world. In that sense, it closely resembles Disney World’s Wilderness Lodge, with a cozy, rustic atmosphere and murals and art pieces that help guests connect to nature. We are talking about bears, fireplaces, totems, and even rooms that are themed after Bambi.
The strongest example of theming at Sequoia Lodge comes alive at the Redwood Bar and Lounge. Restaurants might not be the strongest feature of the hotel, but this bar is amazing. It is located right by a huge fireplace, and sitting here to relax after a day in the parks is a dream come true. The atmosphere makes you feel like you are being transported to the Swiss Alps or Alaska, with large couches, chairs, and the beautiful fireplace. It is often considered one of the best bars at Disneyland Paris, and even non-drinkers should visit just to sit down and stretch their legs.
Sequoia Lodge also offers plenty of great amenities, and it is the most affordable Disneyland Paris hotel with a swimming pool. The heated pools look fantastic and even feature a slide and a small waterfall in a cozy, tropical-forest–inspired setting. The pool area extends outdoors, and the natural surroundings perfectly match the Sequoia Lodge atmosphere. On top of that, you can find the Little Prairie Kids Corner with video games and activities for children, a fitness center, and meet-and-greets around the lobby. This makes Sequoia Lodge a great choice if you want a wonderful hotel experience without spending a fortune.
Sequoia Lodge gets a lot of things right. It looks beautiful, feels peaceful, and is just a short 12-minute walk from the theme park. It also costs about half the price of the Disneyland Hotel. Many people even say they would prefer this hotel if it cost the same as Disney Hotel New York. As we said, if you are looking for a safe bet for a great mid-range hotel, close your eyes and pick Disney Sequoia Lodge.
What we don’t like about Disney Sequoia Lodge
One of the biggest complaints here is that the rooms can feel a bit boring… and honestly, that applies to many lodge-style hotels. What do we mean by boring, you might ask? Well, the rooms feature a lot of muted colors, lots of brown, and some dated design elements. For example, TVs are mostly housed in boxes instead of being mounted on the walls, and most rooms have carpets. Bathrooms still use shower curtains and look like they belong to the era when the hotel opened in 1992. The good news? Disney Sequoia Lodge is set to receive a major refurbishment in 2026, and we hope the rooms will be a main focus.
Conclusion
Disney Sequoia Lodge is a safe bet if you want a great hotel without spending too much. The rooms are a bit neutral and boring, but the hotel gets everything else right. It is peaceful, has one of the best bars around, and the pool is top-notch. You really can’t go wrong with it.
