Disneyland Hotel in Paris might just be the best Disneyland Resort at Paris, if you look at it from outside and ignore that beloved, beautiful thing we like to call “money”. It was recently revamped in 2020, has two character dining spots, some very cool extra activities and it’s located right above the park entrance.
Yes, it takes you less than two minutes to reach the gates and start riding Crush’s Coaster or Peter Pan’s Flight. If you prioritize proximity above everything else and you love the idea of staying in one of the most fancy Disneyland hotels in the world, then you will love it here. Your wallet? Not so much.
What we like about Disneyland Hotel
If you’re planning to stay at Disneyland Hotel, the number one thing to know is that it is located right above the main Parc Disneyland entrance. It is by far the closest hotel to the parks, and the only way to beat it would be to stay inside the park itself right next to the rides. From the hotel, you are just 2 to 3 minutes from the main gates, which is perfect for days when you want to wake up early, take advantage of Early Entry, and be among the first in line for popular attractions like Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain or RC Racer.
Disneyland Hotel also looks stunning. It was recently revamped, with rooms practically rebuilt from the ground up. The lobby is gorgeous, mixing the elegance of the Palace of Versailles with the charm of the castle from Beauty and the Beast. The rooms are equally impressive, and even the most affordable ones feel spacious, featuring multiple chairs, a refreshed carpet, and subtle artwork of some of your favorite Disney characters. Entry-level rooms measure about 430 square feet and showcase a beautiful blend of white and gold, creating the feeling that you have stepped into a fairytale and become a Disney princess or prince for the day.
This hotel has not one, but two character dining spots for you to enjoy. The first is the Royal Banquet, an all-you-can-eat restaurant where you can meet Disney classics like Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and friends. The second is La Table Lumière, a dining experience that transports you straight into a scene from Beauty and the Beast, as if you were a guest of Princess Belle. La Table Lumière is a table-service restaurant and also the most expensive one in all of Disneyland Paris, costing around 120 euros per person, but it is famous for its fine dining and the chance to see princes and princesses wandering around.
This hotel is also packed with things to do. Guests can enjoy both complimentary and paid meet-and-greets with Disney Princesses, as well as a special venue where kids can be transformed into princes or princesses. There is a spa, plus a small Kids Club that children can use for free for up to two hours a day, giving parents the perfect excuse to relax. The hotel also features a large and beautiful indoor swimming pool with a splash zone for kids, hot tubs, a spa, and a fitness center. As you can see, there are plenty of fun and unique activities for families, especially for the little ones.
What we don’t like about Disneyland Hotel
If money is not an issue, this will always be the best hotel at Disneyland Paris. It offers excellent dining options, a gorgeous swimming pool, spacious rooms, and it is located less than five minutes from the gates. Unfortunately, most of us learn from a very young age that money does matter. A room at the Disneyland Hotel costs around 825 dollars per night, with prices climbing during peak seasons and holidays, sometimes surpassing 1,000 dollars a night. That is a steep price, especially when you consider that the second most expensive option, Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, averages about 500 dollars per night.
If you want the ultimate Disneyland Paris experience, you could go all in and stay here for a day or two. This is actually a great choice if you are planning a two-day visit, spending one day at Parc Disneyland and another at Walt Disney Studios Park. Staying longer than that really pushes the price and makes the hotel less appealing compared to other options, such as the mentioned Hotel New York, which is only a 10-minute walk from the gates.
Conclusion
Disneyland Hotel is one of the top places to stay at Disneyland Paris, and probably the very best if your name happens to be Jeff Bezos or Mark Zuckerberg. Unfortunately, most of us don’t own Amazon or Facebook, and the high price tag is hard to ignore. Still, it remains a fantastic option for those who want to splurge for a day or two, enjoy both theme parks, and make the most of the character dining experiences.
