If so, you might have a great time onboard Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, one of the most affordable cruises available today. Seriously, a 2-night cruise can cost as little as $150, and you can sometimes find 4-night itineraries for around $230. When it comes to pricing, this really does feel like Paradise.
Things do change a little when you take a closer look at the ship. It’s definitely on the older side and gives off a nostalgic, no-frills vibe as it departs from Port of Palm Beach. Still, if you're a college student, traveling with friends, and just want to sip margaritas and have a good time, this could be a great pick for your next vacation.

If you’re sailing onboard the Paradise, chances are you booked it because you found a great deal and want to save hundreds of bucks. A cruise on Paradise is often even cheaper than sailing with Carnival or MSC, and you still get that fun, party vibe. The atmosphere onboard is super casual, with people laughing, dancing, and yes, sipping margaritas. Giant slippers and fake palm trees fill the atrium, and it’s just a fun place to be. It’s a great choice for college students or anyone just looking to relax and party without breaking the bank.
The Paradise doesn’t offer a huge variety of itineraries, but the ones it does have are incredibly affordable. As we mentioned, the cheapest option is a 2-night Grand Bahama cruise starting at around $150. The most expensive? A 4-night Cozumel cruise for about $430. See? It’s a fantastic way to enjoy some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean without spending hundreds of bucks.
Other than that, this is a great option for college students and young adults in general. The overall vibe onboard is super casual and geared toward those looking for a fun party atmosphere. Let’s be honest, vacations can be really expensive these days. Sometimes it feels like you can’t even step outside without spending at least $50. The main downside of the ship is that it definitely looks and feels old. In fact, it originally belonged to Costa Cruises and was built way back in 1990. Yep, that’s a long time ago, and there’s a good chance some of you reading this weren’t even born yet! Margaritaville at Sea did a decent job with refurbishments and updates, but the overall design still feels a bit outdated.
For example, the ship doesn’t offer traditional balcony cabins, which might surprise anyone used to cruising. If you want a balcony, you’ll need to book one of the suites, which comes with a noticeable price jump. Most staterooms onboard are either interior cabins or oceanview rooms, so just keep that in mind when planning your trip.
The entertainment and dining options onboard are also pretty limited. That’s expected when you're paying $150 to $400 for a cruise, but it’s still worth mentioning. You’ll find a main dining room, a buffet, and a couple of snack bars, but the food variety isn’t huge. As for entertainment, it’s mostly small live shows and DJs. There are three pools and a waterslide, which is nice, but don’t expect a waterpark or any standout entertainment like you’d find on MSC or Carnival.
If you’re going on a cruise aboard Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, it’s probably because 1) it’s very cheap, and 2) you want to visit a specific destination. The ship definitely feels old, and many guests simply use it as a way to get from point A to point B. Still, it’s a solid option for college students and anyone looking to party… just keep in mind that there isn’t a ton to do (or eat) onboard.
