We are not ready for what is coming to Disney!
During the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference on Tuesday, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed their plans for significant expansions in Disney theme parks, and some possible potential developments over the next decade. Iger disclosed that Disney holds vast swathes of undeveloped land, sufficient to construct up to seven new full-scale themed lands worldwide. He emphasized that despite its suburban locale, Disneyland possesses potential for expansion.
Specifically, Iger confirmed the EXPECTED arrival of a complete Pandora land, inspired by the movie Avatar, at Disneyland, a project initially hinted at as a mere experience. This revelation marks a departure from previous announcements, signaling the park's readiness for substantial transformations. Notably, DisneylandForward is a billion-dollar expansion initiative just to redefine the park's landscape, with commitments to invest up to $2.5 billion for improvements and new themes.
At the conference, attendees learned about forthcoming attractions drawing inspiration from films like Frozen, Coco, Black Panther, Tangled, Peter Pan, Zootopia, Toy Story, and Tron, set to grace Disneyland's grounds within the next decade. Iger hinted at possibly expanding Disneyland's size in California by UP TO 50%!
While Disneyland's Frozen Land in Hong Kong and dedicated areas like Zootopia in Shanghai Disneyland have set precedents, these expansions signal a new era for Disneyland's global footprint. With Iger's revelations, Disney fans, and everyone can anticipate a future where the magic of Disney extends even FURTHER, so if you ever thought that Disney couldn’t be more than what is right now, you were wrong!
