Disney Knows a Thing or Two About the Year of the Dragon

The Year of the Dragon is here!

You probably have heard that 2024 is the Year of the Dragon, and Disney is full of characters that are incredbly hyped to celebrate. Dragons are always cool, and that reminded us that we have a few Disney Dragons that starred in a bunch of movies, so why not review them?

    Mushu, from Disney's Mulan

This Red Dragon from “Mulan” is funny and heroic. After February 18th, your chances to find him during the Lunar New Year celebration at Disney California Adventure Park increase since he will be leading the “Mulan’s  Lunar New Year” event. Get your cameras ready!

DISNEY DRAGON.avifYou can also find Mushu at Shanghai Disney Resort and at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort for the Year of the Dragon celebrations.

    Figment, from Epcot

We don’t need an introduction, because Figment is a fan-favorite and you can spot him all over EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. This cute dragon loves to use his creativity, and we consider he’s a good inspiration for the kids, helping them imagine a wonderful future. You can also find him in Journey Into Imagination with Figment, a classic dark ride in Epcot which children love.

    Elliot, from Pete’s Dragon

“You can’t judge a book by its cover” is the perfect quote for Pete, because he’s a gentle but GIANT dragon that you probably saw in “Pete’s Dragon” in 1977. That's the dragon that was always sweet but looked FEROCIOUS, all he wanted was a family and friends!

    Maleficent, from Sleeping Beauty

One of the reasons we love this movie is because it features the only malevolent fairy that has the power to transform herself into a fire-breathing dragon! She also appears in Hollywood Studios' Fantasmic in all her glory, and is one of the stars of the show.

So, do you have a favorite Dragon? Send us a message, and tell us all about your favorites! Until the next one, friend!
