How to "Celebrate Soulfully" at Disney World

    February is Coming!

Black History Month starts in February! Walt Disney World Resort invites you to “Celebrate Soulfully” with a rich tapestry of events and experiences honoring Black heritage and culture. It’s a complete celebration where you can enjoy cultural cuisine. Disney shared ways to embrace the spirit of Black History Month, so we chose a few to review with you:

    1. Join Michael James Scott as Parade Grand Marshal

On February 6th, catch Broadway sensation Michael James Scott as the honorary grand marshal of the "Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade" at Magic Kingdom. Known for his portrayal of Genie in "Aladdin," Scott's appearance sets the stage for a month-long celebration of Black heritage.

    2. Collect the Princess Tiana Tiara Pin

Live your dream with the new Princess Tiana Tiara pin, available at Disney theme parks and online. Designed by Brittany L. Smith, the pin captures the essence of Tiana's Bayou Adventure and reflects her journey of dreams coming true.

    3. Experience the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts

Celebrate artistic expression at EPCOT with featured works by Black artists like Ryan Riller, Yesenia Moises, and Larissa Marantz. Don't miss performances by L. Steven Taylor, Kissy Simmons, and Bradley Gibson at the DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series.

    4. Discover Art at Disney Springs

Stroll through Disney Springs and admire murals by Black artists like Ernest Shaw, Nneka Jones, and Nardstar. You can experience a mix of food, music, and culture against a backdrop of vibrant artwork.

    5. Explore African Art at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Starting on February 1st, immerse yourself in African art at Disney's Animal Kingdom. The installation features work by Nigerian-American artist Victor Ekpuk, exploring historical narratives and the contemporary African diaspora.

February is getting close, and Walt Disney World Resort is inviting guests to "Celebrate Soulfully" to honor the beauty and richness of Black culture, heritage, and contributions throughout the magical world of Disney.
