Essentials for a Summer Trip to Walt Disney World

Summer at the Happiest Place on Earth

Hey there, folks! It's been a blast enjoying the spring festivals and Easter events at Disney World, but as with all good things, they must come to an end. Soon, we'll transition into another beloved season: summertime. Honestly, I can't help but love every season. Each one offers something unique and special in its own right.

Today, we want to share our summer essentials for the upcoming season. As avid vacationers who adore exploring wonderful destinations like Walt Disney World, we know that it's never too early to start preparing for our next adventure. Now's the perfect time to begin gathering those essential items, just in case you're missing any. In the meantime, why not start drafting your own list as well?

Take inspiration from our essentials because many of them are a must if you wish to thrive during your next adventure.

What should I pack?

Something to carry what you need

Ok, first things first, get a good backpack or fanny pack, or both. Especially if you’re exploring the parks with kids. You’ll need to have on hand everything you and the little ones may need for a day at Disney. Not only that! While exploring the parks, you'll inevitably come across numerous stores, and let's be honest, it's almost impossible to resist buying some goodies during your visit.

A backpack can be incredibly helpful for carrying around your purchases so you don't have to hold them in your hands, unless they're too big or you want to wear them right away. It's totally fine, just like Gloria in the "Modern Family" episode where she had to wear the adorable Minnie plush shoes.

Your very own Water bottle

Even in the winter season, it's highly recommended to bring a bottle of water to the parks. Now, in summertime, this is an absolute MUST. With the sun beating down, long queues, and extended periods of walking, a sip of this vital liquid will keep you going until the day is over. And don't worry, if you want to save a few bucks, you don't have to buy water at every stop.

Just look for drinking fountains. Okay, I'll admit, this suggestion isn't my favorite either. I'm super selective with my water and can taste the differences from miles away. But if you're simply looking to stay hydrated and don't mind a different flavor from a public fountain, then this option can certainly be a solution.

If not, just go to the restaurants and ask for free water, they'll surely give you a cup of it. Here's where the reusable bottle comes in handy: you can fill it up with the water they provide. It's a fun way to save some money and keep yourself hydrated.

Sunscreen and comfy clothes

I think this is more of a personal choice, but c’mon, take care of your skin. Today, the sun's rays are becoming stronger and stronger, even if you can't see them. Make sure to use SPF as much as possible, reapply it throughout the day, and try to avoid long periods of exposure to the sun. I've been to Disney during the Summer and it can get really rough in Florida, especially if you have to stay in outdoor queues.

When it comes to clothing, it's pretty obvious: you need to be comfortable when exploring the many rides. If you want to look cute for the pics, go for it! Look for matching sets that are fresh and let your skin breathe. And as for shoes, please remember Gloria again. She was wearing a cute yet dangerous pair of high heels, so try to avoid them as much as possible. A good pair of sneakers will do wonders for your day.

Anything else?

These are just a few of the many things you can take on your Disney visit. However, these are pretty much my musts (plus gloss too, oops, I'm just a girl). If you want to add more, feel free to do so, just try to take into consideration that they have to be essentials. After all, you don't want to be carrying around a heavy backpack, okay?

Do not hesitate to ask any further questions, our team is more than happy to assist you in any possible way and plan the perfect vacation for you and your family.

Until the next one dear friend!
