Disney did it again!
Yesterday, Pixar Place Hotel celebrated the opening of Pixar Stories at Disneyland Resort. This is the first fully Pixar-themed hotel in the United States, taking inspiration from Pixar animation studios. The 479-room hotel is the perfect place where you will find rooms decorated after movies like Toy Story, Ratatouille, and Elemental.
At the Pixar Place Hotel, you will find some familiar Pixar characters that were brought to life in a new way, either by different styles of playful artwork, new decor, or even exclusive events inside the resort.

Lighting Mcqueen, Mater, and more Pixar pals appeared on the first day. Another special guest was President Ken Pontrock and Pixar Animation Studios Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter.

There are so many areas to see at this new hotel, so let’s explore some of them:
The moment you step inside the lobby, the iconic Pixar Ball and Lamp are the ones that will welcome you, with some abstract characters floating from the skylight above. In the elevator, you may even catch Carl and Ellie’s house from Up. Now that was a great movie.
The lobby is full of vibrant colors and it blends with different art galleries, portraying Pixar characters surrounding the front desk to welcome you in the best way possible. If you hear some nice songs don’t be surprised, because Pixar created a new piece just for Pixar Place Hotel. The best part is that the album is now available online, so every time you listen to it you can imagine you are in this wonderful place.
The entrance shows several character designs. In this part of the hotel, you will see thumbnail sketches and frames of Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story and even one of our favorites, Edna Mode from The Incredibles.
Just as soon as you leave the lobby you will find the Sketch Pad Café serving pastries, sandwiches and grab-and-go snacks, and let’s not forget the incredible expresso bar.
If you feel you want to play around, let’s head to the third floor, where we find the rooftop deck where Pixar decided to touch our inner child. The Pixar Short Court is where your whole family can play games inspired by the animation studio's amazing shorts Bao, For the Birds, La Luna, and Burrow. If you just want to eat a snack while your kids play, you have several spaces to relax as well.
There is another spot in this new hotel where you might need an umbrella or plenty of sunscreen. The pool is themed after Finding Nemo, a perfect place to take a swim and have fun with your family.
Pixar Place Hotel has just opened, and they will de adding new features to the hotel later this year. The Creators Club, for example, will be a collaboration between Disney Imagineering and Pixar Animation Studios.
