It’s Frozen. Your kids will love it, so it’s a 10/10 for them. Go ride it. Thanks.

Well, that’s the review in a single line, but we have more to say if you got a little bit of extra time to sit down, grab a coffee (Arendelle can get pretty cold) and join us as we get ready to meet Elsa and Anna.

This is a Frozen ride, which means a few things: beautiful songs, amazing visual effects, Let it Go and big wait times. Frozen Ever After is a dark boat ride featuring animatronics and awesome effects that help tell the story of the “Official Summer Snow Day”. I had to read a little bit more about that special event, by the way. It’s apparently the day that Anna saved Elsa from an assassination attempt? I don’t remember that from the first movie, but there you are, your little bit of lore for the day.

What I do remember is that Frozen Ever After has all your favorite songs as you travel along the river. Yeah, this is a chill boat ride where you can listen to songs like Do You Wanna Build a Snowman, For the First Time in Forever and, yes, also that song. It’s a very charming ride, and a must go for young guests and especially children that love Elsa and Anna. If you aren’t that big of a Frozen fan you might want to skip it in case queue times are way too long, or try to save it for the evening.

Expect to see a bunch of characters and locations from the movies. Yes, Elsa and Anna are there, but you also see Sven, Kristoff and Olaf. The animatronics are actually pretty well done, and feature great facial animations. They use a trick where projectors and CGI actually show the character’s face and expressions, which helps with the sense of realism. One funny (and scary) thing that can happen, although quite rare, is that the projector bugs out, so you stare at an animatronic that doesn’t have eyes, a nose or a mouth. Nightmare fuel, yep.

There aren’t any scary moments in Frozen Ever After, even if it features two tiny drops. It’s mostly a relaxing boat ride with very good aesthetics and a lot of songs from the amazing Frozen soundtrack. The ending is also pretty cool, showing Elsa’s ice palace, a bunch of fireworks and the two sisters singing together. Cute.

What about queue times, you might ask? They can get pretty long. Usually they are around 40 minutes, and it helps that most guests are now opting to go to the recent Remy's Ratatouille Adventure over Frozen Ever After. Don't forget, however, that we are talking about a Frozen ride, so don't expect to just walk in. This is also a very good option for your Disney Genie+.

Now, does Frozen Ever After does anything different to make it really stand out? Not really. Imagine something like Magic Kingdom's Peter Pan's Flight or The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, but with a bigger budget. Frozen Ever After is mostly that, and that's okay... especially for our little ones.

Will Kids enjoy it?

Let’s be honest, there is a good chance that your kids love everything related to Frozen. There is a good chance that you love everything related to Frozen. Frozen Ever After features every character from the movies as awesome animatronics, from Elsa to Anna, Sven and Olaf. You board a small boat and then it’s time to slowly travel through different regions of Arendelle, all the while you listen to songs like Do You Wanna Build a Snowman, For the First Time in Forever and, of course, Let it Go. Do your kids want anything else than that? Probably not.

Just keep in mind one important detail! This ride features two drops: a backwards drop and then a 28-foot forward drop. So, yeah, it’s nothing scary. It’s not even enough to get wet, but it’s a fun distraction to feel the cold breeze in your hair. Kids typically adore these moments and have a blast, even the little ones. Nevertheless, it's good to be aware of those drops, just in case you need to give your kids a heads-up about them.
