The Most UNDERRATED Rides in Universal Orlando

These attractions deserve way more love!

Universal is home to some of the best rides in the world. We don’t need to come here and talk over and over again about how great Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure is, or how the VelociCoaster is often ranked as one of the best roller coasters of all time, or how The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man collected dozens of awards as the best dark ride in the world. Those are all amazing rides! We know it, and guests know it. Why do you think some of these rides have two hour wait times most of the time?

What about rides and attractions that are a little more… obscure? The kind of ride that is still very fun, but, somehow, most people don’t know about, or they just skip them for whatever reason (reason: ride Hagrid’s a third time).
They do exist! Here, we will talk about some awesome rides that don’t get the love they deserve. Time to correct this! Let’s do a top three, and see if you agree with our list.

The Bourne Stuntacular

This is, plain and simple, one of the best shows in Florida. The Bourne Stuntacular is fairly recent, debuting in Universal back in 2020 as it replaced the equally awesome Terminator 3D. It features actors on stage interacting with a digital screen behind them, which isn’t actually a new gimmick when you stop to think about it. What’s good about it is the pure quality of the show, with sharp and crisp visuals and several fun setpieces that range from fistfights to firefights and even vehicle chases.

The truth is, I don’t see a lot of people talking about The Bourne Stuntacular. In fact, I don’t even see a lot of articles nowadays. This might be because of the nature of the attraction, and that shows simply don’t generate the same amount of hype as a traditional ride. It might also be because the Bourne movies aren’t that well known to the general audience. Maybe some people don’t even know these movies exist and that’s just a random name for a show? If that’s the case, go watch it, guys. It’s a very fun spy thriller and a breakout role for Matt Damon.

Men In Black: Alien Attack

Welcome to one of the first ever interactive shooting galleries in Florida! This attraction is both very fun and super charming. It also evokes the feeling of a traditional ride, with so many animatronics surrounding you. Seriously, there are dozens and dozens of different alien specimens that you can shoot at. It’s addicting to try and go for the highest score, while Will Smith himself decides if you have what it takes to wear the coveted black suit.

It is weird that Men in Black isn’t more popular in Universal Studios. Maybe the attraction is just old, and an update would do wonders with modern animatronics and upgraded laser guns. Another factor might be its location in the park, as it's on the quieter side without many attractions nearby. Nevertheless, don't pass up the opportunity to experience it. Seriously, make sure to give it a try, especially if you're with teenagers. Like many shooting galleries, this ride has a video game-like feel to it, which tends to be a hit with kids.

Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls

Ripsaw Falls is, pure and simple, one of the best water rides you can find when visiting Florida. It features charming animatronics and very, very funny moments. Oh, it’s not funny because of the story around you, but because of how drenched you’re going to get. Seriously, water will find its way into your boat from every direction: front, back, and sides. Don't even think about wearing socks or keeping anything in your pockets! Just prepare to get wet, have a blast, and brace yourself for a great main drop that's among the most thrilling in log flume rides.

So, why aren't more people talking about Ripsaw Falls? I have a few theories. The first one is simply because the name is terrible. Seriously, I only call it Ripsaw Falls, and always have to Google the right name. Is it Dudley? Dudley? Dudley and Dwight? Oh, it’s Do-Right! The second thing is that this ride isn’t based on any popular IP. I had no idea that the character Dudley Do-Right actually exists, and is based on a television series called The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show.

I do think that Ripsaw Falls would benefit greatly from a re-theming. Maybe make it based on Shrek, the Minions or something that is a big hit with kids nowadays. How about Spongebob? He is all about exploring the seas, and Ripsaw Falls does make it feel like you are under the sea with how soaked you are going to get.

What about you, what do you think are some of the most underrated rides? Make sure to send us a message and share your thoughts! I am sure we are forgetting a few of them, but I’m pretty happy with the list for now. Until the next one!
