If I Ran the Zoo Review

Not exactly a Zoo, but you will see a lot of crazy creatures in this fun playground

Do you love playground areas in theme parks? If so, you and your kids will have a fantastic time at Islands of Adventure. This theme park, home to Jurassic Park, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and Marvel Super Hero Island, is a great destination to explore and burn off energy with rope bridges, slides, and more. Camp Jurassic is probably the most well-known playground in Islands of Adventure, but don’t forget about If I Ran the Zoo - a charming corner in Seuss Landing that's perfect for toddlers.

If I Ran the Zoo is a playground designed for the little ones. It’s smaller than Camp Jurassic and lacks the giant rope bridges found there. This attraction is more focused, featuring cool creatures inspired by Dr. Seuss stories, providing a fantastic backdrop for pictures.

The Good

Like every area in Seuss Landing, If I Ran the Zoo is colorful and charming. Stepping inside feels like traveling back to your childhood or even to a different universe. Everything looks magical, especially the creatures that kids can climb on. Many corners feature small plaques with quotes from various Dr. Seuss stories, which will surely make big fans smile.

I’d say that this playground is ideal for toddlers and children up to six years old. Older children might have more fun in Camp Jurassic, which is larger, more open, and offers more activities. Not that your children won’t enjoy If I Ran the Zoo! This place features a few slides, a splash area where kids can get soaked, and interactive elements for the little ones. In one activity, stepping on specific platforms makes a creature appear behind a wall. You can also press different spots on some animatronics to make them play songs or say something in return, or fill a bathtub by firing water turrets at it, making a cat appear. It’s simple but cute.

You can also find a small park with cute, colorful creatures for your kids to climb on and play with, like an elephant and a large, stretched cow. We are in Seuss Landing, so of course things are going to look weird. Another great spot is the splash zone, where your kids can definitely get soaked. Make sure to bring an extra t-shirt or a whole new set of clothes if you visit during the summer.

Will Kids enjoy it?

Toddlers and small children will probably have a blast in this playground. It’s smaller than Camp Jurassic and The Boneyard in Animal Kingdom, offering more focused experiences. It’s cool to see the interactive elements and explore every corner looking for secrets. However, kids older than nine years might prefer the aesthetics and activities that Camp Jurassic offers.
