Enchanted Tales with Belle Review

They weren’t lying, this is truly enchanting

Thank God, this isn’t a case of false advertisement. If there is a Disney Princess that knows a thing or two about storytelling, it’s Belle. She loves adventures, reading books and telling stories, so she is the perfect choice to invite guests to her home and share a few enchanting tales. Let me tell you, the princess in the yellow dress does not disappoint.

Enchanted Tales With Belle is an interactive ride/show that brings you from Maurice’s workshop all the way to the Beast’s Library. There are no vehicles or anything like that, since this is a tour across different scenarios and set pieces where you come face to face with classic characters from The Beauty and the Beast. You meet Lumiere, a magical wardrobe and, of course, Princess Belle during your adventures. This is one of the most original attractions in Disney World and definitely special for kids and fans of Belle.

The Good

The concept of taking a tour through classic locations from Beauty and the Beast is what truly sets this experience apart. Being able to explore without being confined to a vehicle makes it feel like you've stepped into a real-life fairy tale, giving you the chance to take in all the beautiful details around you. The rooms are simply amazing, resembling scenes from a fantasy wonderland or medieval times. Rooms are filled with fireplaces, maps, blueprints, books, paintings of Belle and much more to make it feel like you are stepping into a Whole New World… woops, wrong Disney movie.

The ride starts at Maurice’s workshop, who is Belle’s father, an inventor, and maybe a… sorcerer as well? I say this because there is an amazing visual effect with a magical mirror early on, which transforms itself into an entrance for the next part of the attraction. It's a very cool effect that is sure to leave your kids speechless and perhaps strengthen their belief in magic like never before.

You also get to see a magic, talking wardrobe, who invites guests (with the help of a cast member) to join in the fun by holding props and participating in the retelling of the story of when Belle and the Beast fell in love. It’s really fun how this attraction is very interactive and different from everything else in the theme park. Seriously, at the end of the talking-wardrobe scene, seeing so many children eagerly holding props never fails to bring a smile to my face.

Lumiere also looks incredible and could very well be real if I didn’t Google how he actually works. In reality, he's a blend of advanced animatronics and visual effects/projections that give him state-of-the-art expressions. His lifelike movements, right down to his tiny little hands, are so natural that he truly does seem alive. Hm, maybe he is alive? Disney, what kind of spells are you using here?

The main event happens shortly after Lumiere welcomes guests. Belle finally makes an appearance and guests put on a show, acting like characters from the movie and trying to re-enact what happened in the original storyline. You don’t need to be the next Ryan Gosling or Margot Robbie to show your acting skills, which is all for the better: the performance is almost always pretty funny since hardly anyone gets things right, which is great for a few laughs.

At the end of the show, Belle welcomes guests to take a picture with her. This is actually your only chance to get a picture with Belle in Magic Kingdom, since she only appears randomly at Cinderella’s Table. Make sure to grab your camera and save this moment forever.

I wholeheartedly recommend this attraction. It's impeccably crafted, features incredible animatronics and interactive elements during the whole 20 minutes. Meeting a Disney Princess who speaks with guests and invites them to join the show adds an extra layer of magic. It's an unforgettable experience, especially for kids. So don't hesitate to accept her invitation and step into this enchanting tale.

Will Kids enjoy it?

Toddlers and young children will absolutely love this one. And if you're a fan of Belle, age is just a number, this show is for you too. It's a fantastic and unique interactive experience that's perfect for families. Kids aged 3 to 10 are likely to be particularly mesmerized by everything that happens around them. As for teenagers, well, they might find it a bit too childish, but you know how teenagers can be sometimes.

Even if this is an interactive experience, if your children are feeling a bit shy they don’t need to be part of the show and can just watch everything from afar without interacting with cast members or even Belle. They will also get a chance to take a picture with the princess once the show is finally over.
